@stux I like the idea of the tree trunk written in the textBut also, I see a broken fire hydrant as well before pressing play, and fuck whoever did that. If there's a fire and that hydrant is needed, now it's either hidden inside a snowman or broken. I hope whoever did this with hydrants is found and charged.

@stux Reminds me of comedian Linda Smith on the miners' strikes in #Sheffield: they were on the picket line in very cold weather, so they made a snowman. Police car knocked it down, so they built another one: it got knocked down again. "So then they built the next one over a bollard..."

@stux Real or not, and issues with hiding fire hydrants aside, this is indeed honest work. The building of the snowman is work with the goal of making stupidity and wantonly anti-social behaviour expensive. Wouldn't be my choice of activity, but neither would running over snowmen...

@stux I have never seen anybody run over snowpeople with a car here in Germany. And we rarely have enough snow anymore to build them, maybe two or three winters in a decade.

@stux We should lobby our politicians to have a special carve out in our law to make it abundantly clear: if a motorist ploughs through a pile of snow in places that aren't motorways, the motorist is 100% on the hook for all damages.

@stux there is a story of a guy running over a mailbox with a snow plower. The mailbox owner didn't take it lightly obviously so they checked all the code and regulation and their next mailbox was mounted in a steel beam in a concrete foundation with wood around, so it looked like all mailbox.Next snowfall, whole neighboorhood woke up at night by big metal crushed noise. Snow plower blade folded in half around the steel beam. Conductor try to blame the owner but everyone can see he's a dick.
