       @dangillmor My father, a probate attorney, became a victim to prize scams in the 1980s, he probably lost $300,000+ then and was going to be a witness for the Department of Justice in a case on the other side of the continent.  That's when I learned how there is an industry designed to prey on the elderly.  I grew up in Pasadena, CA, and the fiction that there is editorial independence from the owner was easily taught with the L.A. Times & Chandler family.@AdamBonica -- feel for you.
