       I don't want to write about this butwhen people criticize the kernel for being 'just slop' the evidence they provide is usually an email from a maintainer at most.Like I have yet to see someone showing a visible decline in patch quality, rather than just speculating about it. I understand that the linux project is far from an ordinary foss repo but still...I usually try to avoid this topic and I hate that I'm breaking that rule now but it's been bothering me a lot lately.

       @mage_of_dragons The usual evidence I see is a bunch of new & worse bugs showing up that weren't there before at a higher rate than when people write software instead of randomly generating it, or the codebase becoming unmaintainable because no one can understand it anymore. The bugs happen because LLMs aren't intelligent, so they can't think & work through the process some code is supposed to represent to make sure it's correct. Instead they work more like dice.
