       @mikebabcock point taken, but...i want to tell you that current frontier models are not LLMs anymore and haven't been for a long time (since mid 2025 or so).  the new hotness is "mixture of experts" aka MoE.  don't worry: from an engineering perspective, they are even more inefficient than LLMs.

       @ariadne jfc this convocode that an llm has puked out is the worst code to review. it does things way differently from how a human would, as it is a stochastic modelproper review also requires someone to have a mental model of the code. in this case, no-one has a mental model of it, no-one took the time to iterate on the code and think about how it worksand even with a mental model, code review is difficult. it requires a lot of focused time, so even the whole "human-in-the-loop" thing is completely infeasiblealso: www.softwaremaxims.com/blog/reviewing-ai-codei got a bit ranty, but heh

       @ariadne You hit on a pretty key point in regards to AI.If you aren't already an expert in what you're having the model do for you, you don't have the ability to verify the correctness of the output.  Anything produced outside of that is going to be somewhere between an unsupportable mess and hot garbage.
