       @nicholas @7666 @phnt sort of the inevitable end of political correctness, in a roundabout way. there was a lot of testing waters for language policing going on and the problem got worse. its really effective at neutering public participation, because mastercard doesn't have to do anything while claiming master is offensive.it also has a lot of overlap with what the MKULTRA research actually did; acontextual traumatic responses are what they got out of it. people can't be programmed to be offended within complex contexts, and you've been watching that play out at scale.deprivation of nuance, autonomous trigger responses to stimulus, completely unworkable political schemes (expecting all potential participates to agree on all axes of manifestos unquestionably.)i can't tell you i have proof that its by design to castrate the public's ability to run a commons, but i can't think of a better outcome to hope for as a capital owner :blobcatshrug2:

       @nicholas @7666 @phnt most classical literature before learned helplessness and mkultra doctrines came in to existence talk about the importance of building coalitions and negotiating allies. history is absolutely full of allies of convenience to some workable end. you put up with the DHH because he's good at the useful thing he is needed to do, and he doesn't come to the rest of the parties.that particular degree of efficacy is notably missing now. people think you have to approve of vaxry's entire stack of life choices or else hyprland is toxic. this is false, and eminently selective, because apple and microsoft (power members) get free passes. they probably have ten times as many eichs, but only eich has to pay the price for being eich. and everyone suffers because of it.the history is full of disagreeable centrists forming temporary alliances because it works and purity spirals don't.
