@dangillmor The magic words in that sentence are “security in mind.” The problem isn't security in today's cell phones: they're manufactured with the sole purpose of tracking and collecting user data—not intermittently and in an acceptable manner, but on a massive scale.

@dangillmor I’ve been using GrapheneOS on a Pixel 7 then a Pixel 8 Pro XL. It’s an excellent mobile OS despite Google’s efforts to hamstring it.

@dangillmor It may not be known to many that Motorola began its business as Galvin Manufacturing, selling car-radio transceivers to police departments in 1930. They've got a lot of experience building hand-held radios, so these are likely to be durable.

@dangillmor bought a pixel for that reason. If Motorola were to ship them with graphene os or at least work on making play protection work on their devices with graphene os I'd upgrade in a heartbeat. Even though not necessary yet. So far I didn't want to mess with my only phone if that means banking apps are not working anymore...
