       @icedquinn I think there may be some confusion. 1) Linda McMahon the current United States Secretary of Education; this article and post are about the United States, not Germany.2) No one is sh*tting on trade schools, the critique is on discussing them for people under the age of 11.I hope that might clarify things a bit.

       @davidaugust yes and the germans actually do the thing you are talking about. they pre-sort children towards university or trade schools, and they do it among the earliest of countries that engage in tracks.it's not unheard of as a proposal. i just don't agree with it.
