OK, our little computer/server/NAS is online at Crowd Supply: https://www.crowdsupply.com/mnt-research/mnt-stationThe main idea was to have a high-end enclosure for the classic MNT Reform mainboard to give it a second life, but you can as well build an open hardware computer from the parts. We're also publishing 3D printable versions of the cases, and there will be more photos and use case details in upcoming campaign posts.

@mntmn this is super exciting, I've been following it for a while. I have some questions, its not super clear to me what I need to add to the cart to get all the pieces for this assuming I'd like a new processor to go in and am not scavenging bits from my prior mnt devices. two antennas, mainboard, one of the processor options, wifi. Great to understand what a template would look like for a complete system. Also not clear (though I've not read every word yet) if this comes assembled, would appreciate a heads up :-)

@mjw @r0ss we're in the long-winded process of transitioning from the term motherboard to the term mainboard. the processor modules are generally compatible with all boards. older versions of mainboards are only interesting if you already have one of those, as we don't sell old versions. is there something more specific you want to know?

@mntmn Hey - so piecing it together if I had no old components lying around and I wanted a Station with wifi I would need to add the following to my basket; the station case, an MNT mainboard 3.0, (an optional Dual USB-C expansion), an mPCIe to M.2 Key E Adapter, a processor (e.g. one of the RCORE RK3588 v2 upgrade kits), an intel Gig+ Wi-FI 6E module, (optional but sensible Kingston SSD one of the two choices), two SMA to MHF4 Adapter Pigtails (because I want to W-Fi antennae? checking this one), two W-Fi 6 Swivel Antanna - is that about right? (I was double checking on the Pigtails and that this looks like as a configuration.Thanks for already clarifying this does not come assembled.

@mjw @r0ss the i.MX8MQ can technically be made compatible with the Next (DSI->eDP adapter is still needed), but it's not a goal at the moment, because the number of people who would want that is very low, but then i'd have to do all the support work for that combination.the MNT Reform shipped with MB 2.0, so you can use it in Station, no problem! MB 1.0 was more like a prototype.

@mntmn What's the fastest Ethernet I could expect to work with this, and how would it physically connect? I'm wanting a small NFS/AFP server for my retro network, with the caveat that it's mostly big ol' supercomputers and they're nearly all kitted out with 10GbE (6Gb is pretty much the limit though).I'm looking for an alternative to an Intel Mac mini with Debian (which supports 10GbE).

@Woof after some quick research, the fastest i've found is various 5GbE M.2 cards based on RTL8126.
