No, Dave. It's because the median home price is 400k, and that's insane. Most people are going to find it difficult to pay $2000 a month, and they definitely won't be doing it by themselves. This is the same old, "Stop buying lattes" bs.

Magical thinking. Also, they act like we're all just waiting for interest rates to get better... I don't give a damn about interest rates... I'm not just hoarding money until those pesky interest rates come down... Houses are too damn expensive, and boomers think every last 💩📦 is the damn Mona Lisa.

The boomers literally think we all have the same amount of money as they do, we're just being irresponsible.

They also miss the the 1970s was a construction boom and many of the houses they were buying were new. Those houses are now 50+ years old and need significant maintenance.

@Humpleupagus @Invictus There was a boomer down the street who built a house for about 100k in 2009, sold it for almost 600k. Definitely a different game in that short or time that buying a house in the 70-80s

@SirBlackthorne @Humpleupagus @Invictus My parents bought their house in the 70s for $60k, then sold it 40 years later for half a mil. I've been in my house for half that time and I'm only up a hundred grand.
