       I'm keen on rediscovering the gigs and odd shops that used to exist on Oxford St. in Sydney - one heart of the 80's Australian electronic music history. I've heard about "Waltham Dan" for years, the ultimate weird electronics store that no one could enter unless they knew exactly what they wanted.Just received some old news ads for them AND another shop at 70 Oxford (which we looked - is now wiped away). These ads are from the 1960's at the latest. Still there in the 80's. #electronics #music

       @lardmotel looks like a lost Australian Akihabara. I recall shops like Jaycar also being better and having more weird/exotic fare and less tat. I imagine these days one has to go to Shenzhen or somewhere for this sort of thing.

       @lardmotel Not old enough for Waltham in Melbourne, but I spent a lot of time rummaging in 'United Trade Sales' and 'Ham Radio Supplies' for weird electronic stuff in the early '80s.
