We should elect a lot more people who want to actual do something about Climate Change issues instead of ignoring them, putting them in a low priority or even deny it at allNOW is the time to act.I try to live according to; "I want to leave the planet better then how I found it"Instead we got; wars, planet eating AI, horded wealth, lone rulers and dictators who only think about today and themselvesC'mon people, we are with a lot more in the end.. right?

@stux I *can* believe it. For my last 24 years before retirement I was surrounded by increasingly bat-shiat crazy cons (redundant, I know) who followed every con-podcast idiotic idea like it was gospel truth (no matter how it conflicted with their professed religion, or reality). They do not think, they just repeat what they are told.We have a very tough road ahead.

@stux I think too many people will be looking at the red on the outdoor thermometer & seeing the wildfires come over the horizon and will STILL blame "the woke radical left" for their problems.Convince people that the blender is 'woke' instead of being powered by billionaires & they will believe you.Humans are exceptionally good at hating anyone they think is different. @stux Raising my kids has been a unique insight. They defaulted very young to being suspicious or even scared of people who look or act different.It has required active, intentional parenting to de-program that instinct. I don't know if that initial reaction was societal or nature, but it was there & we had to actively teach against it.I think this is why tolerance isn't as widespread as we wish it was & why it's so easy to turn people against eachother.

@stux I think the most shocking film/pictures I’ve seen recently are the glaciers collapsing in the Alps. I think that will have a catastrophic effect on rivers for a long time.We visited the Athabasca one in BC Canada with about 10-15 years between and the shrinkage was dramatic.

@stuxWe are in a sad situation now. Besides voting for the right people, I personally look at the reasonable things I can do:Digital minimalism:- Optimizing my blogs like reducing its output size, saving energy on both the server and client.- Clean out old files/email often, with extra benefit of speed/smaller backups- Stay away from AI and LLMsI insulated the house more, eat almost no meat, less car driving, consume less. It won't save the planet, but at least I do something.
