       Bahn nerd question: there's a connecting track between the low- and heigh tracks at Osnbrück Hbf. It appears fairly steep. Is it (and is it at a steeper grade than normal?)edit: found it! It's officially VzG-strækning 1602 and 1.6km long. It's the steepest connection loop around this area and tops out at a gradient 2.5%#BahnBubble

       Train travel is fun today. Just had a very good laugh with the person who had a brain fart and figured DB would put a wireless charging pad above the windows in an ICE.Took easily fifteen seconds of rotating the phone in front of it and me smiling at her before all of a sudden she bursted out laughing and realised what she was doing.To even things out I told her how this morning I woke up thinking the hotel was on top of the train-station instead of a 20min cycle ride away. :-)

       Hurrah! Free mini city tour courtesy of DB & DSB! A quick transfer between Hamburg Hbf and Hamburg-Altona turned into an 80 minute opportunity!Finally had a look at the Feldstrasse Flakturm bunker. It's indeed massive. Yup.Ate some excellent döner from Ali Baba's place at Bergstraße. Nice people as well.Cycling around altona now. It's charming in that chaosy small-town-inside-big-city way.

       Oh great. The train actually arrived and it looks like  I will have 55 min delay on arrival. Just below the 25% ticket refund.For once I'm rooting for the Danish border police doing a Schengen violation, just five minutes please.edit: is this maybe something the @erpu can campaign for? :-)Edit 2: apologies to any other passengers but I will be fumbling with my passport "oooh, it's in the other bag!        So the two emergency stops were done by some arsehole. Conductor apparently figured out who did it.New delay though: we're at Schleswig (for fifteen min now) and the doors don't open. What surprises me is that the train staff doesn't seem to be able to override it. I thought a mechanical door opener (one that doesn't then damage the door system) was still required?To avoid confusion: I'm in the ComfortJet, not the DSB Talgo, thus I just bought a nice cappuccino :-)#CrossBorderRail

       Moving again! They ended up opening one door. I'm very curious on why this took so long: can it be that after a manual opening it requires a technician to repair or reset something?In other news: I find this funny every time I see it. "Electric ... without wires" while there's very much a wire.

       We're in Denmark now. No Padborg border police even though we did stop and had a minor door issue.As some people asked: it didn't appear to be a fake door issue. The police was actually waiting for "someone" in Schleswig, but also had to deal with the door issue.I suspect the final delay won't hit the 50% discount rate :-|

       Back home. Disembarked in Kolding exactly 120 minutes late. So just in the 50% reimbursement category.The original arrival time in Kolding was 15:44. Oddly enough the info screens say the original time was 15:46.. It'll be interesting to see what they do.It was a nice trip :-) And the hobbit is happy with their new mini-Dikkie Dik. So all good.#CrossBorderRail between DK and DE is an embarrassment that actively hurts green travel though.
