I think I need to replace Bitwarden as my password manager. It's been getting worse and the last update introduced a super-annoying bug.Recommendations? (Not 1Password, please.)UPDATE: I'm giving KeePass a try.

@dangillmor I'm curious what the annoying bug is. If you're in the Apple ecosystem, the Apple password manager has gotten pretty good.

@corsairstw Ubuntu 24.04 -- trying to copy a username/pwd from the desktop app fires up a Remote Desktop instance requiring permissions I don't want to give. (new behavior they admit is a bug)

@dangillmor I only use Bitwarden as a backup for 1Password. But "Just in case" I add passwords to ProtonPass. It doesn't have the amount of information that 1Password has, but if BitWarden is annoying you, try it.

@dangillmor Post-It note, very popular, universal, never crashes, adapts to the underside of every keyboard, mouse mat and drawer, compatible with every known OS.I can't vouch for it's security, but that doesn't seem to bother its user base.

@dangillmor I use KeePassXC and am pretty happy with it. I've also tried Proton and it was okay, but it's very tightly locked to the browser on desktop, which I don't like; also Proton as a company has done some sketchy things that make me not want to support them.

@dangillmor One caution on KeePassXC is that it is allowing AI contributions now. YMMV. I am currently using it, but will probably switch to something else, maybe pass.

@dangillmor been using the keepass protokoll for at least 13 years according to the oldest passwords in my database.On android KeePassDroidOn linux KeePassXC (depending on the distro from repository or flatpak, both are fine)Btw, there is a merge protokoll/funktion, so you can synch your different databases from mobile and desktops if you do not want your keepass file on the cloud...
