My mom wants me to learn another language. Suggested portuguese, but I don't really have a use for that nor do I like it enough, then suggested Italian, sure, that's what I'd do, but idk how to learn. Ideally I'd learn German to watch Alarm for Cobra 11 in its native language glory.

@mischievoustomato@0.5dollah.click both are close to Spanish. Portuguese being the easier choice. If you choose Italian; you could learn Latin with a little effort. German is possible since you know English but not an easy switch like the latter two. The three major Romance languages are more interchangeable than Germanic based languages imo. But, I never successfully learned a second language because I’m retarded. I’m just interested in languages

@mischievoustomato@0.5dollah.click if you have no interest there is no reason to learn another language you will just forget almost everything if you aren’t consistent. An adult age it takes too much effort. That’s why I’m just interested in languages. If you wanted usecase you are better off learning Japanese. But that’s always a lost cause because it’s so hard to learn for anyone that isn’t native in an Asian language. Which isn’t the case for the four Romance languages for most people at least.
