       @jmaris I'm pretty sure that when I wrote compilers (a long time ago now) we *did* include identification of the compiler in the output.

       @TimWardCam @jmaris tbh I'd hope for an entire compiler version string, its entire commandline, and sha256 of the source files, to be in some .note.whatever ELF section
