       I was surprised to see that Anthropic was implementing hidden watermarks in LLM text output seemingly so willingly. It just occurred to me that LLM companies benefit because they can read these watermarks to filter out LLM output from their training data.

       @freya they should have done that from the very beginning on their own: that problem was so obvious from the first time any results found it's way into the open.

       @Ulan_KA that occurred to me as well, but I can also see this being controversial. The EU setting their policy makes them a very easy scapegoat.Either way this is just speculation on my part
