       @dangillmor I am fairly confident that it is. And I have the same feeling about various things going on in many other countries. A feeling that the covert objective is population reduction - primarily the less wealthy end of the population. It might be a difficult balance for them to strike - keeping enough to buy but losing the "dead weight" and yet having sufficient thoughtless voters to ensure your party is elected in whatever facsimile of democracy you operate.
