Random question, anyone have any leads/threads on decent directed planar orthogonal graph layout algorithms?

I don't think I can bend graphviz to my will for this in general, either, as I need custom node shapes with fixed positions for incoming and outgoing edges, But I *really* don't want to write my own graph layout engine....

mmm, maybe just gutting what I want from ELK and porting it to Rust is the way to go here...

@kris ELK is the Eclipse Layout Kernel It seems to be a better fit for what I want anyway, the only downside is it's Java, so i'm going to have to port it to Rust :v(There is an elkrs crate but the author seems to be all in on LLM slop, and also the repo doesn't exist anymore, even through it's on crates.io, so shrug)
