       @mikoto video lan is yes in fact VLC is THE reason France is like this : they came to the French courts and said “VLC could not exist if software patents were enforced” and so France nuked them

       @ignaloidas nope outside of France you can patent software; enforcement is not very strict but in France those literally don’t exist
