       turns out to be ridiculously easy to do, although I haven't tested it on a machine where this file doesn't exist yet:(setq dashboard-startup-banner (format "%s.txt" (system-name)))should help solve one of my numerous "wait, which machine am I on again?" problems

       I suppose if I was a truly Fancy Lass I'd do some API calls and just cache the results but my lisp level is still at "I forgot how to say this is a variable and not a function" so let's just hold off on the fancy curl and cache madness.

Without variables, and without built-in functions besides cons / car / cdr / ' / lambda, and those used for reading and writing and parsing the data read.)
