       to be clear when I say dansup should handle fediverse devrel, it is from the position that1. the fediverse from a dev perspective is basically a bro world2. of the bros I've seen so far, dansup has been the most effective communicator in terms of explaining a strategy that will get results in terms of promoting the fediverseI am painfully aware that there are queer folx who can communicate more articulately than any of the bros, but we live in a fediverse where bros get the spotlight and queer folx largely get bullied (and we are so good at bullying each other too, sadly)

       everyone else here has been talking about a pipe dream where Facebook and Twitter have to allow federation, and predecate their growth strategy around thatin other words a strategy that was dead at conception, much less arrivaldansup on the other hand is talking about making fediverse platforms more accessible to non-technical people, e.g. single sign-on etc.

       @ariadne That actually seems a terrible idea even if it were possible. They have fundamentally different values and the whole way these spaces are set up contradict the fediverse in just about every way possible. Frankly, seeing the people of those platforms and what the average post is like these days seems like hell were it to enter the fediverse en masse. Glad it's a pipe dream.Aren't we here because we don't want to be there?The non-tech part will be crucial tho. I am new here and fairly tech savvy but notice there's a whole lot to learn and figure out. It takes some base knowledge and dedication, each of which will be a struggle too many for many people.I have made it a mission to completely turn my tech, services and platforms around (and have, for about 90%) but it's not necessarily easy and I did have to force myself to push through and keep at it quite a few times.

       @nitrml it is not, but my point is that when you look at the main players in fediverse dev, the queer-led projects are indie ones that largely don't have a seat at the table.

       @julian I don't think it's any specific individual, rather I think the idea of participating in these conferences is less attractive, or perhaps less accessible to the projects we would like to include.

       @adrienne he was the only mainstream app dev talking about solving the fedi growth through easing onboarding and increasing content quality.  everyone else was talking about a pipe dream where facebook is forced to federate.
