       Habanero peppers are still green, growing good now, are they supposed to turn red or does it depend on variety?

       They do now have some hybrid ones in other colors I believe but mostly orange. Wait a bit until they start changing color then pick. Usually they taste the best just before fully ripened. I pick my jalapeño peppers right before they turn fully red most of the time. Depends on the flavor you are after. I have red bells that are good both green and red. That's what the wife is using in the omelette she's making rn. Take some pics, love seeing peppers. @Murray_N @Haleakalacrater

       You absolutely can! You can also do what they call overwintering by cutting the pepper down and putting it in a pot in a bright window over the winter to plant back in the ground in spring. With a light you can harvest peppers all year long. I've been lucky and left my peppers in ground the last few years. Every year the plants produce double what they did the last.
