       @itsfoss Xubuntu 8.04 and Ubuntu 10.04 were my first distros. 12.04's Unity desktop barely ran on my laptop, 14.04 Unity did not run at all. That pushed me away from Linux for a decade beyond a few live system tries.W10 ends, I do six months of distro hopping before I realized it was the desktop I should focus on, not distro itself. Mint Cinnamon became my daily OS. Lite was my back-up until I had unfixable sound problems with it. Kubuntu is now my back-up.

       @itsfoss Yep. When I was new to Linux I was basically DESKTOP hopping instead of DISTRO hopping. It's not until I understood Linux at a deeper level did I actually consider DISTRO hopping to get specific features that one distro offers over another: secure boot, hibernation, BTRFS, included drivers, preconfigured apps and settings, etc.
