       The management class really just does have different brains than useful people. Why hire one guy who knows what he's doing when you can hire 10 guys that actively cause damage for 3x the price

       @RustyCrab it seems at HR and MBA school they teach that employees are interchangeable, indistinguishable cogs and it doesn't matter who is in a position if they meet the minimum requirements on paper

       @RustyCrab But have you considered that the guy who knows what he's doing might a) recognize that his contributions are meaningful, valuable, and not easily replaced, and b) interfere with various schemes, whether by accident or desigh?

       One of the worst things the Navy ever did was introduce high year tenure, forcing everyone (especially those unsuitable for management roles) to become managers or get out of the Navy after 14 years
