       FUN FACT: I offer send-in service for coreboot installation, and I have done for many years: https://minifree.org/product/installation-service.htmlIt is ostensibly a Libreboot installation service, but I provide service for all other coreboot distros as well - for example, I can provide MrChromebox installation on Chromebooks.I want to expand my send-in service, so I've re-written the page to more clearly explain what it offers. I do lots of custom jobs for customers all the time, via this service.If you have a coreboot-compatible device, I can service it. Where feasible, I also have it added to Libreboot for future send-ins, otherwise I install whichever coreboot firmware the customer prefers, e.g. Heads, MrChromebox, Dasharo.I normally just sell computers with Libreboot pre-installed. Libreboot provides better security and flexibility compared to proprietary BIOS/UEFI firmware; it's the same argument as using Linux instead of Windows.I wish to expand the use of send-ins, so I hope the new page is clear.

       @libreleah As a T480 owner, I hesitate to try alternative BIOSes because I don't find any clear and explicit mention of the Thunderbolt issue in their descriptions, including on your page.        @avatastic Yes, whitelists are removed by installing coreboot, or firmware based on coreboot. These whitelists are implemented by the original firmware, so replacing the firmware with coreboot removes all such restrictions.

       @yrabbit It's mentioned on the Libreboot documentation but I'll mention it here too. As of right now, a ThunderBolt patch is available which works, but it breaks S3 suspend/resume, so Libreboot excludes support; the ThunderBolt port can still output video and be used for battery charging. This may change in the future, so keep an eye out. If you're happy to break S3, you could have ThunderBolt support. Until the patch is improved and fixed, it's one or the other.
