       @eff I went through the DROP signup last week. @pluralistic is right: the process is insanely convoluted and I already *have* an ID.me account. I'm grateful to live in a state that's making an effort, but of all places, why is the home of silicon valley doing so poorly to protect its citizens with a process that's got sign up failure built in? https://pluralistic.net/2026/07/23/drop-a-dime/
