       The New York Times has (somewhat belatedly) discovered that Google is an enemy of the open Internet. This is an important piece, because the Times still is an agenda-setter in journalism. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/20/technology/google-ai-open-web.html(Google spokes-parrot denies it all, of course.)

       @dangillmor Even though I would have loved to read this I absolutely refuse to do  it on Google or Apple: "Create a free account, or log in.Gain access to limited free articles, news alerts, select newsletters, podcasts and some daily games." FO!!!
