       my pet theory for this is because Bitkeeper had paid customers and paying customers demand quality, thus the ux had to be tightened up (requiring training material is a black mark on a product.) mercurial inherited this because it copied. git didn't because linus gives no fucks about anyone, and companies just externalized the training cost instead.when you see companies handling training they inevitably start retooling things to be learned (they want someone useful as fast as possible.) when they can externalize, quality can become infinitely bad (it's just a 'you problem' now.)

       @icedquinn jj is so nice, so simple to learn. Most of my team switched to jj when i just showed them how it works. I have since started to think that git's ux is not good because it is not an application layer tool, it's a presentation layer interface. It focuses on how it works internally and exposes the actions that you can do with its internal state. jj tracks changes and its interface is about that, not about "how the changes are savec behind the scene).my 2 cents of course.
