       actually, in general, i am in support of applications implementing MCP servers, not because of AI but because anything can use MCP to puppet an application

       so for example, you can imagine somebody using a screen reader.today their experience is... so-so.but with MCP, the screen reader has a lot more context, and thus can generate better representations of the application state that might be more useful to a blind person.

       @gaditb @Elizafox oh, i too, am skeptical that screen reader vendors will not take advantage of this opportunitybut that does not mean MCP is not useful for non-AI use cases :)

       @gaditb @Elizafox i do have some experience working with assistive technology in a computing sense.  not as a customer, but as a researcher.nah, there are proprietary screenreaders on both windows and mac which compete with the platform implementations (voiceover & narrator).narrator (the windows one) is atrocious, so basically everyone uses JAWS or NVDA there.

       @ariadne the one time i explored that the exposed functionality was absolute dogshit seemingly thrown together to proudly proclaim they have it.
