       ohhh now i get it... i'm actually in the year 3000 and in a long-term holodeck experience created by lana wachowski, it's the prequel to the matrix and lets you slowly and agonizingly experience how misguided humans built the matrix themselves

       @mntmn More like prequel to The Enterprise happening upon a planet very intent on selling weaponry and wants to demo.However, ours won't shut off when you buy something.  It'll consider you an existing customer--confirmed to have need of product.  It'll weigh the likelihood of you being interested in even more powerful weaponry, enter the next demo mode, and spam you to death.
