       @mntmn To me it is pretty clear that Linux is wildly successful mainly because of a lot of open source developers who are there because they perceive it as some kind of "social warrior" project, AND (to a lesser degree) because of companies who believe in the "*NOT*".Up to a few years ago, Linus was very good at keeping both those camps happy.

       @mntmn what worries me is that AI code is trained on code from the internet, mostly open source, so it's a reflection of human skills. But worse, if we let them publish now and it's not up to much, they're peeing in their own training pool.
