suicide allegories are not interesting to me. show me what happens when someone is pushed so far that they lose who they are, and the trauma of no longer recognizing yourself. show me what happens when they writhe in a pit of despair for years as everyone they know and love moves on.

i'm not opposed to bummer endings, but if you want fucking consequences for character arcs, write interesting ones. suicide isn't the only way things go. in fact, it's not even the primary way. show what happens when someone lives when they should've died.
