       @The_Whore_of_Blahbylon BlueSky is a credible threat to those in power as it has branded itself as the twitter "before Elon" with many News agencies there.  It's also a place where many that left twitter go & spread information about protests & other actions against the criminals in power.So like every freedom that has been stripped away, this will be sold as a way to "protect children" & it'll end up being another surveillance dataset.#SocialMedia#Bluesky#Twitter#Regulation

In order to sell you to their advert customers, they need to have your profile, hence the so-called "age-verification" which is just an excuse to have you upload some document so they can make a better profile. For some games, the only winning move is not to play...

       @The_Whore_of_Blahbylon apart from that age verification is the wrong measure, Mastodon is federated and each single server would have to enforce age verification.BlueSky is one centralized server so you are completely depending on their policy.And Twitter probably just gives a shit.

       @The_Whore_of_Blahbylon Bluesky is a single US corporation which seeks respectability with the powers that be & may be subject to the laws of your locality. Mastodon dot social is run by an EU corporate charitable entity that is probably immune to the local laws governing #SocialMedia everywhere except the EU and even there probably is exempt. Other #Fediverse sites all have their own circumstances. Xitter has political protection & ignores laws with impunity. For now.
