@davidrevoy Hmm I wonder if you could open a portal to slightly underground on a cold planet.Then, as long as you can stop the rock from flowing through the portal (which should be easy if it's only slightly underground and therefore under low pressure), your unwanted heat will be absorbed by the cold rock.

@davidrevoy We can thus conclude that Pepper's house is on the southern hemisphere:It seems to be summer there, as it isn't always as hot there as in this and recent episodes.Bright light is coming from the portal, much too bright to be moonlight (even with 3 moons and one teapot). But if it were summer on the northern hemisphere, it'd be winter on the southern hemisphere and thus polar night at the geographic south pole (assuming similar axis tilt of Hereva as that of Earth).
