       @lanodan @maxine @rose Is Haiku worth leveraging as a stable cross-platform ABI?(basically imagine Wine but it runs Haiku applications instead of Win32 stuff)

       @moses_izumi @maxine @rose :shrug: Maybe? I hate the idea of cross-platform ABIs, it's always a burden on everyone (else) sort of thing and exists more due to popularity and more or less proprietary business, and means being stuck with a lot of reverse-engineering.Rather than due to some kind of good design and common behavior built on community consensus.

       @ska @rose Yeah, it's the kind of thing I'd also want, maybe I should get a small power-efficient x86_64 machine for it.(VMs are fine as just a user for me as well. Just don't really want to maintain something based on an x86 VM in my infra, I already ended up with qemu shoved in an alpine chroot/bwrap-container after all)

       @lanodan @rose @ska during 39C3 someone dropped-off a Terra firewall at a hardware exchange with Lexcom 3V900D board in it (VIA Nano, x86_64, 1x 800MHz) and @9lore and I decided to snatch it.Haven't found any use for it so far, but I could set it up for Haiku (I doubt this kind of compute would be any useful, but it would be fun). Should have 2GB of DDR3 kicking around and some SSD as wellP.S: I think I'm gonna throw Haiku onto 2009 Unibody MacBook, even more of a reason to try it :neocat_floof:

       @elly @9lore @rose @ska Well for just ssh + small C software like we do, it should be plenty.In fact I was thinking about something comparable to a second-hand PC Engine APU, second-hand ryzen laptop, or one of those x86 odroid boards.
