@zatnosk Yep, ep13 in Dansk ( https://www.peppercarrot.com/da/webcomic/ep13_The-Pyjama-Party.html ) is the contribution of @alkarex 's daughter, long before LLMs were even popular, maybe even 10 years ago, as far as I remember. I keep on the top of the page the name of the translator, because translation is an art, and I hope one day it will be published on paper in Denmark. Sorry for the jumpscare; yes, the website now tries to check the favorite language of the webbrowser, and switch to that if a translation is available.

@zmicier (2/2) I have no doubt the Morevna team is anti-war, and look at this propaganda with also critical eyes. But they can't avoid it, because of the current gov. And if they have to accept animation contract to survice as a studio, maybe they can do only this. I know it is probably hard to understand from country with freedom of expression and opinion; but it's not easy to protest in a country that a protest is equal to jail or death sentence.

However, it's not really relevant in this case.Firstly, I don't understand why moverna is assumed to be anti-war. If that's because they said nothing, that's not a good reason: they also might be pro-war, just not talking about it (either because they don't about "politics" or because they know it's unpopular opinion). There are a lot of russian people who didn't talk about war for years (because unimportant politics), and in 2022 started to openly support it.Being "anti-war" is also not necessary being against ukrainophobia and imperialism: some people just don't want to be drafted, but still hate ukrainians. But that's a different topic.Secondly, even if they have to help with propaganda, they're still being harmful. Propaganda is still there.If they earn more money, some of those money will still go to russian government (and will very likely fund weapons against ukrainians, including civilians). If I know about their collaboration with russia, of course I don't want to support them. And suspicious of those who defend them.

@white_paper @zmicier Honestly, I would need to learn more about this animation they participated; their role, what propaganda it is to be a bit more expert on the topic and get an opinion. But I don't have the time, nor language skill. I met the Morevna IRL in 2012 at LGM madrid. It has been 14 years, they have been around FLOSS, they published many time what they did for FLOSS. I saw documentary they made of their humble indi studio. They gained my trust. (1/2)

But, I'm someone, I think, who is ready to study.So, if you are motivated voicing against them, I understand your reasons, and encourage you to produce documents that explain to people like me why it's so problematic. Numbers, their effects, so we can measure the gravity of the act. Thank you.

@davidrevoy @zmicier they have enough resources and courage to create a patreon with a help of a friend from non-sanctioned country but they can't move literally anywhere from russia? I doubt it. working for the state is not so cheap either, I doubt they barely scrape by from payday to payday. they have a choice and they chose the side of ignorance and obedience
