       I always find myself wondering what people think the "p" means when they're quoting resolutions these days. The "p" part hasn't been relevant for 20 years, and most people just treat it as a standard part of describing resolutions, but... do people think about what it's short for? Probably not?

       @misty IMHO resolutions should still be WxH, both naming only one side and the progressive/interlaced/halfscan distinction only mostly make sense for "consumer TV", not computer monitors.(I do have a (tiny) VGA screen that manages 1024x768 only in 43.5 Hz interlaced, but that’s an addendum for the refresh rate, not for the resolution.)
