       @eff We don't fix this without confronting this head-on. In the modern world, ownership means that you alone have the privilege of destroying the things in question. Other people can rent or borrow, possession isn't the point. Disney has disappeared "Song of the South" not for profit, people would pay to watch it, but because they're exerting control over what we're allowed to remember or discuss.Intellectual property is the idea that ideas can be destroyed at the pleasure of the powerful.

       @eff not a problem. I stopped patronizing sony ages ago, havent owned a playstation since PS1, and would never tolerate this entire paradigm of nonsense. Once upon a time folks like myself tacitly agreed to pirate less, and buy more, when the industry made deals that were acceptable. Once again, the deal is no longer acceptable, so we return from whence we came. Fuck sony and every corporation like sony. Ill have a larger library of *everything* this way anyway.

       @eff rather than focusing on physical, why not focus on sorting out online?. Remove platform store monopolies and store monopolies itself, like if you buy a copy of xyz from regardless of the online store it must be made available from any of the stores for that platform and force way to preserve games if they are to be delisted etc. So many things that can be done to make it better for consumers than trying to force say PS6 must support a bluray when GTA VI already won't be on physical media.
