       @resucutie oh yeah I have this exact same laptop, it's my file server. It came with 8gb of ram when I got it, but HP around this time in their infinite wisdom decided to put a 1TB hdd and a horrid low-ppi screen in and essentially made a whole bunch of useless machines well into the w10 days.

       @resucutie these machines make pretty excellent basic file servers, they're more than capable enough to transcode video and handle smart home automation on their own. it's just they're not very amazing for general use, but they are still decent machines with an SSD and some ram.
