       I just spent ages trying to get around TV2's detection of VPNs so I could "appear" to be in Norway 🇳🇴 and stream tonight's game whilst in Italy 🇮🇹Then I tried searching the web for solutions. If you're trying to cast something from TV2 Play it's probably DRM protected, and if the Android TV you're casting to is real cheap it might just not have the Widevine support needed to play the content.

       My success rate of connecting an Apple iPhone to another Apple device is way higher than connecting a Google Android device to another Google Android device.💯 facts.        @matt In other words your phone and casting is probably working fine, it's the target TV that's too cheap to play the content you want it to. Not uncommon for older TVs, chinese ones, or just generally cheap ones.I tend to always keep an HDMI cable in my backpack in case of cheapo/old hotel TVs or similar. If you have a USB-C dongle for your laptop you can probably use that to get HDMI out of your phone. Cables might be clunky, but sometimes the dumbest solution is the best.

       @quad This could be the answer, but is it likely that my phone would see the option "Android TV" and then I press it and... nothing happens on either device. The icon on my phone changes to a loading icon for a few seconds and then just returns to it's prior state. What do you think?

       @matt I frankly don't know. I would hope it gave you some kind of error. But if it just silently fails, there's little to go off.If you try just casting a simple YouTube video instead, does the same thing happen?

       @quad Yes. Does the same with every app. But it could be any number of things wrong; cheap TV? old Android version? WiFi configuration? Etc. Anyway, thanks for responding but I think it's just going to be easier to watch on my phone or with Italian commentary at the hotel bar. #worldcup #noreng #engnor #sports #football #android

       @matt If no casting works, it's probably client isolation. Some hotel networks prevent devices from speaking to each other via WiFi, which would break any casting standard.Sad.
