       @alice_i_cecile I started AccessKit of course, but Arnold and I are now equal partners on the project, and in fact he has been doing most of the work on it lately. We agreed years ago that neither of us would use LLMs on the project. I continue to honor that agreement, and I still think it's a good idea for the sake of keeping the project's copyright status clean.

       @alice_i_cecile @matt my reason for hard line on LLM contributions is the copyright concern. But I am putting hand-written AGENTS.md in repos to assist if people want to use it for other things like plan-only or asking questions. Or to modify for their own use. It’s also worse environmentally if everyone using AI has to independently re-run /init

       @matt @alice_i_cecile @lumi this is one concern I’ve been having is that people will make assumptions based on the presence of AGENTS alone but I am working on putting the anti-llm policy in an AI_POLICY.md file if people at least bother to read it.

       @WeirdWriter @glyph @jens @dentangle @petaqui I don't know; Bender et al.'s "stochastic parrots" framing is widely criticized as not being an accurate reflection of how LLMs work and what they're actually capable of. Regardless of the harms and the ethics, we should be accurate about the actual capabilities of the thing. Otherwise we lose all credibility with those we hope to convince.

Even if it were just randomized algorithms, we've seen a handful of other "random" algorithms completely shape the modern internet, for better or for the worse
