I have achieved the ability to generate AI slop, for free, running entirely in my machine, with some decent results, if I may say so.I'll need to fine tune things later, maybe set an upscaler to create images bigger than 1024x1024. The results come pretty quickly, and I'm having very few failed generations (mostly stuff like it trying to put a watermark/artist signature even after I putting it in the negative prompt.I can take some prompt requests to help me measure the capabilities of it, if anyone wants.I'm too smallbrained for ComfyUI, so I have SwarmUI running over it which allows me to use prompts in natural language.

@_anti surprisingly, not that much. I have a RX 9070XT with 16GB VRAM, which is very far from a "professional card for AI" like a 9700 PRO with 32GB or an Nvidia A2000 with 32GB.And it works fine, and pretty quickly. I'm pretty sure I can crank some knobs and increase the amount of steps to get better quality without straining my hardware too much.

@berkberkman @_anti so, here's the thing. The previous time I tried it, I was using ROCm 6.4, which was the stable release, and my results were... not great (but that was in part due to me being a retard regarding ComfyUI, I suspect).Now I'm using ROCm 7.2, which leverages the new architecture and is said to be around 2 times faster than 6.4 was. So maybe since you have a previous gen card it will be a bit slower, but since you have more VRAM I assume you'll be able to add more LORAs and more steps

@monkyyy it's not a $300 shitbox, but at the same time it's not a 20k special plug machine.First thing we need to get out of the way: I'm Brazillian, so shit is hella expensive here. And this PC was buildable here, in any civilized country it costs 10x less than it cost me.I have a lot of RAM and a beefy processor, but that's because I'm still on the AM4 platform, and I decided to upgrade it to the max last year when I decided I wasn't going to upgrade to AM5 anytime soon, so I got lucky and dodged the whole shitshow with RAM.But the most important thing for this AI generation thing is your graphics card, and I have a 9070XT, which, despite being the "top end" card for AMD, is still a consumer grade mid range card that is a bit inferior to the RTX 5070 TI, and is way cheaper than most Nvidia options.

@bronze @EdBoatConnoisseur @mischievoustomato biggest advantage of SwarmUI, again, is that the interface is friendlier than ComfyUI.For instance, instead of adding a block and figuring out everything, I have an easy toggle to set img2img, with a neat slider I can use to configure the strength of it.Then it does the ComfyUI workflow for that automagically.

@RedTechEngineer @_anti @berkberkman here's the thing:I use vulkan in my LLM config, because vulkan works fine with it.But for image gen, the best one is with PyTorch, and PyTorch accepts only ROCm.Unless you use stable-diffusion.cpp, that has vulkan support, but then you miss out on all the fancy customizations and loras and shit like that.
