       ok, i have to do some security stuff and will need to use linux stuffies. my desktop is a full gentoo but my laptop with i use when im on the go, which is more often than not, has only a windows install. I was wondering if I could get away installing some simple ubuntu or similar for now, and over time if i spend more time using it, I can always go over gento and,it's not in a hurry but I'd love feedback on your own experiences or what approaches you'd takeI said ubuntu for naming some mainstream quick ready to use but any other also works. LMK your favs! very appreciated!(if you wonder why i use gentoo, is the only distro has never failed me on 10 years so it's my last bastion)

       @bunni it's ok to boost.but in this case, simple and stable is gentoo. Ubuntu, debian... are the opposite of stable for me. i won't deal with confidential stuff for now or i wouldn't use my regular machine. I'm just more used to linux and if I'll use heavily linux i rather do it on linux

       @bunni i can share binaries if they aren't cpu specific yes. but the compiling is made in a tmpfs in ram so it's very fast in my case with so many cores too
