       @mos_8502 I think Wayback is still being developed (there are recent commits¹), but the people talking about it in public may have gone quiet for the usual reasons. There's also another recent-ish project to split a 'Wayland' server setup into a more X like server + separate window manager thing, with a standardized window manager protocol that various WMs are signed up to.¹ https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wayback/wayback

       @kirtai @mos_8502 Yes! Thank you, River was what I was thinking of. There's even a fvwm-like window manager based on it written by one of the fvwm authors, https://codeberg.org/thomasadam/cow(I see CoW even has a FvwmIconMan replacement, which is great for me because that's a core part of my fvwm environment.)
