Twitter and Fedi cannot even be compared, because the incentives for running the two couldn't be more different. Fedi instances are run for fun. Twatter is being run to generate profit and as a testbed for whatever Elon pulls out of his ass this morning.

@phnt a lot of that is what you subscribed to. Seriously, fedi is bigger than this local bubble.Also, no. Content is just one part of the equation, the other is engagement. On twatter, it just sucks. If you are a small poster, most likely almost none of your posts will even reach your subscribers, due to the ALGORITHM putting priority on big and popular accounts and god knows what else. I have about 200 people following me and the view counter on my posts rarely reaches even a dozen views.Twatter is great for consoooming content (and content is the right word here) mixed with ads and AI slop. It's not that good for having any kind of discussions.

@phnt adding to that, you can just run a bot that reposts your favourite twatter art accounts here and your experience is going to be miles better than following them directly on twatter.

Someone I don't follow replied to me or a thread I'm tagged in. (I think I can turn that off and only have that show in notifications, not my home timeline, or even possibly not see it at all if it really bothered me that much.)2. Someone I follow reposted something that I didn't follow. While it's not 100%, it's astronomically more likely that I I'll be interested in something reposted by someone I already follow than if it were just injected into my TL by some (((algorithm))) or because it's (((sponsored))) or (((promoted))).There's is some content here. I follow a bunch of bots that post interesting stuff. But it's also about interacting with actual real people. I'm not on fedi to "become a fan" of a corporation, or follow a (((brand))), or "engage with" a celebrity/e-celeb.

@phnt saying that twitter was never meant for something is a misnomer in the modern day and age, because it originally was a dumb sms repeater. Seriously. You send an sms to a short number, the text is posted to your account. Hence the original 140 character limit.
