GNOME stands with all its disabled contributors and all disabled people. Let's fight together for a world where no one has to hide their disability and access is the default, not the exception.        @gnome Please also include in #accessibilty poor folks who only have access to old #lowspec computers. I love the #gnome design but often have to install a distro using xorg with #jwm or #icewm for these folks. Please have options to reduce gnome memory usage to run like 300MB or lower. Lowest Ive been able to achieve is around 900MB on Alpine which was still a lot for my cousin's 3GB RAM laptop.#a11y #RAMpocalypse

       @gnome Hello, I am totally blind. I stopped using Linux in 2004 when I didn't find my Braille display's drivers. Some years later I tried ORCA on an ubuntu. And now, many years ahead, I'm still locked on closed source because I don't find a large blind community talking about Linux (Vinux, visually impaired linux, is not updated); so I can't even experiment. I don't find enough info on mobile devices out of the closed source fences... Free platforms which allow to collaborate in productivity, have less accessibility than more commercial reality. Example, NextCloud's productivity suite, has many barriers with Braille.I have also found obstacles in relationships with most communities on FOSS, such as "if you need it, do it yourself" - not to consider that many programming courses are made in a way that visual mnemonic capacities are considered the most.Not to talk the fact many representants are just men, rare women. And I have also experienced sexual harassments. "you are not a girl, you're a troll" or worse.Things have apparently a little changed, but I'd like somewhere to seriously start with linux at least.
