       Seeing someone complain about light mode, tips the scales towards me (joking about) removing dark mode from my website. But then people in the replies were complaining about dark mode so strongly tipping the scales towards me removing light mode.I think at this point it stays so balanced I just gotta make 100% of my website a completely flat middle gray. Text, background, everything :P

       @nytpu Since I understand the source of complains about dark mode (astigmatism :drgn_cry: and other eyes-related problems), I couldn't comprehend the source of complains about light mode :drgn_confused: is it from people with ideal sight, who sitting in the dark room without light sources and simultaneously maxxxed-out the monitor brightness to 100500%? :drgn_blush_giggle:

       @evgandr@bsd.cafe @nytpu@tilde.zoneDeep black is somehow a power-saving feature in case with OLED displays, in other cases it makes little sense. Even in the pitch-dark room scenario you usually want not only darker background, but lower-contrast. Clear white background is bad in every sense though, imagine sitting in a dark room and taking a few minutes off keyboard to think of something, then pressing a key or moving a mouse and it comes back on — now it's just blinding and you can't read a thing.Proper solution would be turning on at least some light for ambience, but yeah… 😏I usually start with darker gray, like #222 or #333 as background and something like #ccc for "white" text — then people can nudge it further in the direction they like with add-ons like Dark Reader, it's not hard these days — even on mobile.
