if you're wondering why it's been a while since the last app icon: I've been travelling and getting uninterrupted focus time has been hard...also the tuning phase for this one has been quite long. metaphor and colours are in place, but sometimes the fiddling seems endless to get things just right.it's a process and always worth it though. :)#app #icon #design

honestly the hardest part of the app icon design process is picking the light variant of the brand background colour.it always looks kind of meh and most of the time the icons are displayed on a dark background (except in social media previews).I hope #Flathub/#GNOME would just drop it. :)

this is already acknowledged by the #libadwaita AboutDialog where in the Light theme a subtle shadow is drawn around the light parts of the icon.the OS/website should pick the shade/hue for the light brand colour to be consistent for all app icons. for example by using the 10% opacity value of the dark brand colour.
