       In 2024, NY Times top honcho bemoaned the weakness of American journalism at this knife's edge of democracy or dictatorship, but didn't connect his own org's relentless normalization of fascism to the problem.        @dangillmor That Dallas News piece is A.G. Sulzberger’s 2024 “Independence Day” commentary, where he argues journalistic independence is “harder than ever, rarer than ever and… more important than ever” as a bulwark against democratic erosion.
