       a reason i'm skeptical about projects started to big conveniently timed publicity by notable foss e-celebs is that the common pattern i see often ends up being them not being able to stick with their new toy for longer than a few monthsbest case it gets adopted and maintained by other people, worst/more common case is looking at the repo after a few months and seeing little to no real activityi'm not referring to anything specific, more like a continuous observation

       @q66 many of 'em see themselves as kinda "incubators" that get a project started base on (fame, reputation, hype etc) and never had any interrest to meaningfully contribute to it in the long run.Of course a lot of those projects end up failing because when the "celeb" walks away so do those that only joined up because of parasocial shit.
